The Trend Micro subsidiary's free extension for NVIDIA's robotics simulator packages attack scenarios across five surfaces, from perception and AI models to cloud links, communications, and embedded systems.
VicOne, a Trend Micro subsidiary, released the free VicOne Radeis Extension for NVIDIA's Isaac Sim on Sunday. The add-on lets developers drop documented attack scenarios into their existing simulation loop and watch how a robot's perception, cloud link, communications channel, or embedded controller misbehaves under each one.
The five attack surfaces (AI models, perception, cloud and API services, robotics communications, and embedded systems) come from the Physical AI Safety Stress Test VicOne ran at DEF CON 34's Robotic Hacking Community capture-the-flag exercise on Reachy Mini and LeKiwi platforms. VicOne also folded in the unsuccessful attempts and the new attack assumptions surfaced during that CTF, then packaged them as test scenarios.
The tool arrives as robots shift from pilot deployments to scaled real-world sites. VicOne CEO Max Cheng argues cyber-safety validation has to become a standard part of robotics development, on the order of crash testing for cars, before scaled deployment becomes routine. No industry body or regulator has written that standard yet.
What remains open: whether independent developers and robotics operators will adopt a vendor's failure-mode catalog as the de facto test set, and which body, consortium, insurer, or regulator, eventually owns the rule.
