Task Force Falcon Strike extends a year old one way drone squadron into a multi domain force, with allied crews now joining U.S. operators across air, sea surface, and underwater.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stood up Task Force Falcon Strike on Aug. 13, calling it its first multi-domain, multinational attack drone task force (Seapower Magazine), a step that folds allied crews and sea-surface and undersea reach into a year-old one-way drone squadron that has until now operated only in the air.
Falcon Strike builds on Task Force Scorpion Strike, which CENTCOM launched roughly nine months ago as the military's first dedicated one-way attack drone unit in the Middle East. Scorpion Strike's record, including the first aerial attack drone launched from a U.S. Navy warship in December 2025, its role in Operation Epic Fury, and July strikes on Iranian port facilities using unmanned attack vessels at sea, is what CENTCOM says it is now extending to partners.
Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT) will lead Falcon Strike's multinational staff from MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, the headquarters that covers CENTCOM's 21-country area of responsibility across the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia. CENTCOM is consulting and formally inviting regional partners and says the task force will scale as they join.
"Task Force Falcon Strike is going to expand on the success of Task Force Scorpion Strike and continue to build tremendous innovation among our regional allies and partners," Adm. Brad Cooper, CENTCOM's commander, said in the announcement.
The command did not name invited countries or specify the new task force's size.
