TCS absorbs MHP, the 4,500 person German management and IT consulting firm serving Aston Martin, Bentley and McLaren, and opens a five year AI Mobility Centre of Excellence with Porsche. About $1.35B at recent rates.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has agreed to acquire MHP, the 4,500-person Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary of Porsche AG, for €1.25 billion (about $1.35 billion at recent exchange rates), the two companies said on 24 August 2026. The deal also commits TCS to a five-year strategic partnership with Porsche, anchored by a new AI Mobility Centre of Excellence that will pursue AI applications across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and customer experience.
MHP, which Porsche has used to embed engineers across its own operations and a UK roster of premium OEMs including Aston Martin, Bentley, McLaren and INEOS, brings 300 clients across automotive, manufacturing, aerospace, public and defence, with offices in the US, Mexico, UK, Romania, India, and China. The UK office sits in Reading.
The acquisition gives TCS a premium-OEM reference base in European automotive engineering consulting, a segment where Indian IT majors have historically had limited embedded presence. Porsche is treating the divestiture as a milestone in its "Sportwagenschmiede 35" (sports-car forge) strategy of refocusing on the core sports car business.
The deal is subject to regulatory approvals, and closing terms and the AI Mobility Centre of Excellence's first joint deliverables have not been disclosed.
