Solidigm, SK hynix's US based SSD and NAND unit, is set to lift Dalian capacity ~50% with mass production in H1 2027; a NASDAQ listing is reportedly under consideration.
After a roughly four-year pause, SK hynix has restarted investment in Solidigm's Dalian NAND fab in northeastern China, with Phase 2 equipment install slated as early as November and mass production targeted for the first half of 2027, per Sedaily as reported by Tom's Hardware.
The new phase adds ~50,000 wafer starts per month (WSPM, a standard fab-output measure). Combined with Phase 1's ~100,000 WSPM, total Dalian output rises to ~150,000 WSPM, a ~50% bump per Sedaily.
The capital-markets side is now surfacing. SK hynix is mulling a NASDAQ listing of Solidigm, its US-based SSD and NAND subsidiary, while retaining control per the Korea Herald. A Form 6-K filed with the SEC clarifies reporting on a pre-IPO funding plan; the listing itself remains reported talk, not a confirmed filing.
What made the restart possible: late last year the US replaced SK hynix's open-ended Validated End User (VEU) exemption with annual equipment-export licenses through 2026. The 2027 ramp lands in a different regulatory posture, and the IPO has not been filed.
