Post quantum cryptography firm BTQ Technologies and Texas power and data center developer TIDAL PWR will publish a deployment blueprint for facilities that mix quantum, AI, and classical systems on the same floor.
For most of the last decade the hard question in quantum computing was whether the hardware could run. The new hard question is what a data center actually has to specify when quantum, AI, and classical systems share the same floor. A partnership announced July 20 publishes one vendor's answer.
BTQ Technologies, a post-quantum cryptography and trust-infrastructure company, and TIDAL PWR, a Texas-based power generation and data center developer, said they will jointly produce what they call a "trusted quantum data center reference architecture." In plain terms, it is a deployment blueprint that other operators could follow. The work covers three concrete streams: post-quantum cryptography, meaning encryption designed to resist attacks from future quantum computers, for protecting AI model weights and training systems; a trusted supply chain and vendor-procurement standard; and the power and buildout specifications a mixed facility needs to come online.
BTQ contributes solutions architecture and post-quantum cryptography guidance, plus the procurement doctrine that comes with it. TIDAL PWR brings the physical plant: reliable power for AI and quantum loads and the repeatable buildout model the data-center industry has been refining for hyperscale, enterprise, and managed-service customers. The two companies name AI model weights, training systems, inference traffic, and privileged access as the workloads the architecture is meant to secure, and they are positioning the result for hybrid AI, HPC, and quantum environments across hyperscale, enterprise, and managed-service tiers.
In the press release, BTQ CEO Olivier Roussy Newton said: "As AI and quantum increasingly share the same physical footprint, our customers need defined deployment parameters, not open-ended research." TIDAL PWR's Chad Swensen added that the collaboration extends the trust and reliability his company has built in power and data-center delivery into the quantum era.
Independent coverage from The Quantum Insider and The Qubit Report confirms the scope but adds no customer, deployment, or revenue figures. A reference architecture is a doctrinal document, and the partnership does not name a buyer, a site, or a power contract. BTQ's most recent 6-K filings show the company is shipping post-quantum hardware on a separate track, including a July 2026 filing on a security-chip design completion.
The items to watch are whether the blueprint is published on a stated timeline and whether it names a reference deployment site.
