A DHS led working group added three Chinese consumer brands on August 3, naming specific food and apparel brands rather than corporate parents.
On August 3, a Department of Homeland Security-led working group named Qiaqia sunflower seeds, Sinian dumplings, and Septwolves clothing among additions to a US import-restriction list (36Kr roundup).
Qiaqia sunflower seeds and Sinian dumplings are established Chinese food brands; Septwolves is a Fujian-based menswear group. None of the three commands comparable US shelf space today.
This appears to be the first time the list has named Chinese consumer-goods companies by brand rather than by corporate parent. The list itself does not specify a per-brand rationale beyond the standard "import restrictions" category used in earlier updates.
The shelf-level test comes at the next restock: whether Qiaqia, Sinian, and Septwolves products already in US distribution stay on shelves is the visible marker for how broadly the new list bites.
