Nscale, which sells AI infrastructure, is buying Anyscale, whose software schedules training and inference across thousands of machines. Anyscale keeps its brand; customers still pick their cloud.
Nscale, the UK-headquartered AI infrastructure operator that sells GPUs, data centers, and power under one contract, said Monday it has agreed to acquire Anyscale, the company whose software schedules AI training and inference jobs across thousands of machines (Nscale).
The deal pairs Nscale's physical stack of chips, data centers, and energy contracts with Anyscale's orchestration software, the layer that turns raw compute into finished AI products. It mirrors the verticalization move cloud hyperscalers made a decade ago, now aimed at AI workloads.
Anyscale, whose roughly 200 employees will join Nscale, keeps its brand and existing customers, who remain free to choose where workloads run. Ray, the open-source framework created by Anyscale's founders, was donated to the PyTorch Foundation in 2025 and stays community-governed. Nscale will join the foundation as part of the deal (PR Newswire).
Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approval. Nscale recently closed a $900 million revolving credit facility to fund its data-center buildout (mlq.ai).
