Nano Nuclear Energy and Tillman Digital Gateway signed a framework agreement Monday to deploy micro modular reactors, factory-built small nuclear units designed to be shipped to a site and assembled on location, across Tillman's planned U.S. AI data-center sites. The deal names Nano Nuclear as Tillman's "anticipated preferred nuclear technology provider", with stated targets of 2 gigawatts of advanced nuclear capacity by the mid-2030s and 6 GW by 2040. That is roughly in the range of two large traditional nuclear plants.
The framework is not a construction contract. No site is licensed, no reactor has been ordered, and no fuel supply is committed. The targets are conditional on definitive agreements, customer commitments, financing, and regulatory approvals, per the joint press release. A Stocktitan summary references an associated equity component, up to $100 million in NNE stock available to the Tillman platform, that should be confirmed against a primary filing.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission recently issued Part 53, the first new U.S. nuclear licensing pathway since 1989, and certified the country's first small modular reactor design. That gives advanced designs like the Kronos MMR a defined route to a U.S. license.
The chain that has to close for the 2 GW target to mean anything: an NRC license for the Kronos MMR, a secured HALEU fuel supply, a hyperscaler power purchase agreement with Tillman, and community consent at the first site.
