Larsen & Toubro books up to $1.57 billion Together AI order for Chennai AI data centre

Larsen & Toubro has secured an order worth up to ₹15,000 crore (~$1.57 billion) from US-based AI cloud platform Together AI to host 10,000 Nvidia B300 chips at a Chennai data centre run by its Vyoma.AI unit, according to the company's exchange filing.

The deal is a band, not a number. L&T's filing puts the order in the ₹10,000–15,000 crore range, or roughly $1.05–1.57 billion, and classifies it among its "mega orders." The actual value has not been disclosed.

The order marks L&T's entry into what it calls the "AI factory" business, a vertical run through its AI infrastructure subsidiary LTN Compute and the Vyoma.AI campus unit. Together AI will use the cluster for large-scale training, inference, and fine-tuning workloads. The Chennai site, designed as a gigawatt-scale campus, has 250 MW planned for Phase 1 with 150 MVA of power infrastructure already in place, per the filing.

L&T describes the cluster as "India's largest single-cluster AI infrastructure" and the country's biggest B300 deployment, superlatives not yet independently verified. The chip concentration is narrow (one Nvidia product tier) and the customer concentration is narrower (one US client).

L&T shares rose as much as 1.2% in midday trade on August 13 following the announcement. No third-party comment from Together AI was available.
