At a March 16, 2026 investor conference, Chairman Young Liu said AI server rack shipments would grow at a "high double-digit" pace sequentially in Q1 2026 and could double year-on-year for the full year. Foxconn has described its own share of the global AI server market at roughly 40%, a company-side figure echoed by Focus Taiwan and not independently measured. The repetition is the signal. AI server capacity for North American hyperscaler customers is being sited next to the USMCA border on a recurring schedule, not as a one-time bet. The driver is the same as for the parallel US capacity build: tariff exposure on China-assembled servers, lead-time pressure on rack-scale deployment, and customer-side preference for hardware built under USMCA rules of origin. AI server racks are bulky, mostly air, and the shipping economics plus tariff posture push final assembly toward the consumer market.
