CrowdStrike turns its industrial cybersecurity product into a managed service with Cognizant

CrowdStrike is putting a managed-service wrapper around its industrial cybersecurity product, handing Cognizant the job of running it as an operational-technology defense service for factories, utilities and other critical-infrastructure operators. Operational technology (OT) is the category of systems that run physical infrastructure, as distinct from office IT.

The new Cognizant Cybersecurity for Operational Technology service uses CrowdStrike's Falcon platform to cover asset discovery, threat detection and response, vulnerability management and attack-surface reduction across converged IT and OT environments. The service is built on Falcon for XIoT, CrowdStrike's product for monitoring extended IoT, the wider category of networked sensors, controllers and industrial equipment that OT operators depend on.

Bundled into the same announcement: a new AI Partner Specialisation inside CrowdStrike's Accelerate Partner Program, formalising four tracks — resell, manage, build, deliver — for partners handling AI-related security services. A new Verified Agent certification requires partners to validate any AI agents they build against CrowdStrike requirements before listing them on the CrowdStrike Marketplace.

Separately, CLEAR — the U.S. identity-verification company, not the airport security service of the same name — is bringing its verified human-identity check into the Falcon platform.

Daniel Bernard, CrowdStrike's chief business officer, framed the bundle as ecosystem work for "the agentic era," the period in which AI software agents act on a user's behalf. No customer, deployment count or pricing has been disclosed.
