CometChat Raises $6.5M for AI Agent Platform Expansion
In app communication platform bets on proactive outbound agents and multi agent orchestration for enterprise customer service.
CometChat, an in-app communication platform, has raised $6.5 million in strategic funding from existing investor Run Ventures to expand its AI agent capabilities.
The company, which has raised $21.1 million total, is building what it calls a "next-generation AI agent platform" focused on enterprise customer communication. The platform rests on three pillars: Proactive Outbound Intelligence, where agents autonomously monitor conditions like restock alerts or refund delays to contact customers before they reach out; Multi-Agent Orchestration, a visual workflow builder for non-technical teams to coordinate specialized agents for billing, scheduling, and recommendations; and a Customer Intelligence Layer that extracts preferences to personalize interactions across web, SMS, WhatsApp, and voice.
"The current fund raise is specifically done to accelerate our AI play," said CEO Anuj Garg. Target verticals include wellness and beauty, home services, e-commerce, hospitality, and food service — high-transaction industries where responsiveness drives retention.
CometChat positions itself as a no-code platform for building conversational AI agents, built on six years of communication infrastructure. The company was featured on Forbes' 2026 list of Top 500 American Startup Employers.
The funding will support scaling AI deployments, go-to-market expansion, and building vertical leadership over the next 12-18 months.
