Infleqtion, Aliro, Tensora, and Bandelier sign on to ABQ Net, a state backed, fiber based network for quantum timing, sensing, and secure key experiments.
ABQ-Net, a state-backed quantum testbed in Albuquerque built by Brooklyn-based Qunnect through a contract with Roadrunner Venture Studios, has its first four committed users: Infleqtion, Aliro Technologies, Tensora, and Bandelier Technologies. The network is billed as the first open-access, entanglement-based quantum network in the United States. Quantum entanglement is a physics trick that lets two particles act as one (Qunnect / Roadrunner, July 28 2026). "Open-access" here means shared research fiber, not a consumer service.
The two live anchor nodes sit at a downtown Albuquerque office and at CINT, the Department of Energy facility operated by Sandia and Los Alamos. Planned expansion covers the Air Force Research Laboratory, the University of New Mexico, and Central New Mexico Community College.
Each user has a stated use case. Infleqtion plans to validate coherent networked quantum sensors synchronized via quantum timing, the kind the company says can support missile defense and autonomous systems. Tensora is exploring quantum-inspired sensing for ground deformation and environmental monitoring. Aliro has already demonstrated its AlirOS KeyGen stack running real-time, entanglement-based secure-key generation on ABQ-Net's commercial fiber. Bandelier joins for secure-key work.
The network sits inside New Mexico's over $450 million state investment in quantum company creation, brokered through the state's Technology and Innovation Office (Qunnect, Feb 2026). A separate $25 million backs the New Mexico quantum venture studio (NM EDD). A state partnership with DARPA, announced in September 2025, signals federal alignment, though ABQ-Net itself is state-funded (Governor of New Mexico).
What remains open: deployment scale, throughput, and how soon the network adds users beyond the four named companies.
