Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC), China's NAND flash memory chip maker on the US Entity List since 2022, has cleared an early checkpoint for a roughly $4.
Shanghai's STAR Market has accepted YMTC's listing application, a procedural step toward a planned raise of about RMB 33 billion (US$4.9 billion) for the Chinese memory-chip maker. The filing, lodged through parent Changcun Holdings, was accepted on August 21-22, 2026 (TechNode, Channel News Asia).
If completed at the planned size, the offering would rank among the largest in STAR Market history, behind CXMT (ChangXin Memory) and SMIC (Aju Press, Global Times). Proceeds are earmarked for production-line upgrades and research, not lithography, and the listed sponsors are CITIC Securities and China Securities (Investing.com).
YMTC makes NAND flash, the non-volatile storage chip inside phones, SSDs, and data-center drives, and has sat on the US Entity List since December 2022, restricting its access to advanced equipment. STAR Market is Shanghai's Nasdaq-style tech board, and IPOs at this scale still require CSRC registration and SSE review before pricing.
Acceptance moves YMTC into formal review. Final approval, pricing, and the subscription window remain open.
